ABK Boardsports has been the premiere Windsurfing School since 1982. ABK has been on permanent world tour since then bring windsurfing to many areas where there just wasn't that type of instruction available.
In September 2002, Andy Brandt and his wife Sarah James bought ABK and are continuing the tradition of the last twenty years as well as bringing their own unique talents to bear providing an even more valuable experience to their hundreds of campers each year. The staff also gained fame being named the best instructional team in the USA. From Beginners to experts, you can get better at ABK. Andy, originally from Pennsylvania, has been with ABK Since 1988 and is one of the best known instructors in the USA. He continues to write for Windsurfing Magazine and is now devoting all his energy to ABK, expanding the fall and winter Caribbean tour.
Sarah, originally from Brittan learned to sail in Cabarette and is known to have a preference for warmer waters. This is her seventh year with the ABK world tour teaching on the west coast and the Caribbean. Sara writes for Wind Sport magazine and is involved with the equipment testing of the latest equipment each year. Sarah brings her knowledge and skill not only on the teaching end but in managing the camps operations.
On a personal note, having struggled with the sport for many years, even on the verge of giving it up, I attended an ABK camp. I learned so much I signed up for another camp the same season. As of the 2003 season, I became an official sponsor of ABK and am proud to give them my support, unqualified recommendation, and many heartfelt thanks for all the fun times, and exemplary teaching experience that they have shared with me.
